Child, Adolescent and Family Welfare

The division “Child, Adolescent and Family Welfare” provides services for children and adolescents with and without special needs, children at risk of developing a disability, children and adolescents with developmental delay, as well as for disadvantaged children and adolescents. Services are also offered to the families of these children and adolescents. There are two children’s homes that provide various services for children living there as well as for children in day care. Furthermore, the division “Child, Adolescent and Family Welfare” provides an integrative day care center called “Kinderhaus Arche” where children with and without special needs learn and play together.

Children’s homes in Niederwörresbach and in Rechtenbach

The children’s homes provide children, teenagers and adolescents with a new home away from home. Here we make sure to find the best permanent solution for each child, whether this means to reunite them with his/her original family or to find him/her a home with a foster family. In regards to the pedagogical work, our goal is to strengthen the parents’ sense of responsibility, to promote their parenting skills, and to support them temporarily. In doing so, we focus on the children’s strengths.
Besides our regular groups within the homes, we also offer various external sheltered accommodations. These include a group for families, two groups for mothers and their children, a group for children who are likely to return to their original families and only stay for a certain time (called “Weekly Group”) as well as an external group with the goal to transition back to family life.
Both children’s homes also provide places for underage asylum seekers, either for long-term stays or as a first temporary accommodation.
We also offer various accommodations for children and adolescents outside their families, including social pedagogical care centers for children and sheltered housing options for adolescents and teenagers.
Professional day care teams aim to support the children’s development so they can stay in their families and their social environment. This goal is achieved through social learning, assistance in school and active involvement of the parents.
The division “Child, Adolescent and Family Welfare” offers all services prescribed in the German children and youth assistance act (Kinder- und Jugendhilfegesetz).
